Internet Access in Manado - North Sulawesi

Manado city have many places for Internet Access. Mostly all internet access speed in Manado is slow ( there are few only that use broadband). Normally all the internet access shops, they charge Rp 3.500 to Rp 5000 / hr, or around USD 2 for 2 hours. Laptop normally is not allowed in the internet access shops, but some internet shop is possible. Now mostly all diving resorts or hotels in Manado provide free Wifi, but some of them will charge you seperately. In Manado city, Some of the better known and centrally located Internet cafés are Zanita Cafe, CYBER Cafe ( Cheap BUT Low Access ), ENJOY Net ( it ok, but EXPENSIVE ), INFORMATIC internet arround BAHU MALL ( It is ok but a little bit far from the city ), Kawan Baru ( good but expensive )

Some places, restaurants, malls have free internet access, as long as you eat their food that sales in their restaurant and you will be able to access internet your self.

 

What populer local people do now is open internet via their mobile phone. Recently local provider handphone give good package price for internet, so all local people can enjoy using internet via their mobile symbian phone. If you have your own mobile plan to stay longer in Manado, you can problebly consider to change your sim card with local sim card for temporary only of course. Ask the card seller to registration your card, otherwise it will be difficult to registrate your card yourself..
