Public Transportation
If you know how to use the public transport ( Manado language
is " Oplet " ) in Manado, it will save your money a lot.
For example, when you want to use An Oplet from the airport
to Manado city, it will cost only arround Rp 5000. But
for your comfort, you better take a taxi from Airport
to Manado city and it will cost Rp 60.000 ( USD 7 ). Sometimes
they charge you more. It all depends on how good you bargain
it, but a fair price is around Rp 60,000 :)

Mikrolet ( the public transport )
The popular transportation is the microlet (some
local people call it an oplet). This kind of vehicle
is used within the city or for short distances outside
the city. It takes 7 passengers (1 on the front
seat and 6 on the back side ). Public transport
in Manado city ( Only in Manado area ) cost only
Rp 1500 / person

( Dian Taxi )
Taxi services in North Sulawesi are operated by
Dian Taxi and Merit Taxi. Only some of them have
argo ( meter ). But the most populer Taxi in Manado
is DIAN taxi. Normally they have argo ( meter ),
but some of them are not using it. Call 851010 (

Intercity
Bus
These busses serve for long distances between cities
in Minahasa Raya and link to cities in Bolaang Mangondow,
Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi and South Sulawesi.
The capacity varies from 16 to 40 passengers and
the fare depends on distance. For example, from
terminal Paal 2 ( Manado Area ) to Terminal Tangkoko
at Bitung cost Rp 4000 / person |

HOW
DO I GO TO MANADO CITY FROM AIRPORT BY PUBIC CAR ?
You must take two times public
cars. First take the public car with sign in front "
LAPANGAN ", you will pay only Rp 2500. When you
reach TERMINAL PAAL 2, then you can find another public
car with sign " PAAL 2 " and pay only Rp 1500
for it until Manado Town. Prepare your small money to
pay the public car. If you have many bags with you,
you can consider to pay more for 1 seat for your bags
only. This is important cause Public Car from Manado
is very small car. |
